Caterpillar Inc. plans to open a $37 million visitor’s center on the riverfront in Peoria, Ill., in October, the Associated Press reports. The new center will feature exhibits that showcase product development and design, a heritage gallery, a tribute to the company’s workers around the world, and a movie theater built inside a two-story replica of a 797 mining truck.

The visitor’s center will display about 10 Caterpillar machines and a construction trailer will house several equipment simulators for visitors to operate.

The center, which will be located on the Illinois River next to the Peoria Riverfront Museum, will also contain second floor office space, a conference room, and kitchen and dining areas, which will not be accessible to the general public.
