The two-speed option to mid-frame 318D (pictured) and 320D skid-steer loader models were developed in response to landscaping and snow-removal contractors’ need for faster travel speed across jobsites. The new option increases ground speed by as much as 62 percent on manual and E/H-controls machines, from 6.8 to 11 mph. Operators can kick into higher travel speeds with a flip of the toggle switch on the left-hand joystick. The units feature 24-percent larger cabs than their predecessors and six more inches of headroom. A larger door opening facilitates entry and exit. A hydraulic fan drive and engine auto-idle enables the machines to run more quietly. www.deere.com/wps/dcom/en_US/regional_home.page
