Larry Silber Named President, Utility Equipment for Ingersoll Rand

Ingersoll Rand recently appointed Larry Silber president, utility equipment, effective August 1. In addition to taking on new responsibility for the Utility Equipment business, Silber maintains his current responsibility for sales to the rental industry for the Ingersoll Rand Construction Technologies and Compact Vehicle Technologies sectors.

Ingersoll Rand recently appointed Larry Silber president, utility equipment, effective August 1. In addition to taking on new responsibility for the Utility Equipment business, Silber maintains his current responsibility for sales to the rental industry for the Ingersoll Rand Construction Technologies and Compact Vehicle Technologies sectors. Over the past four years Silber has worked as president, rental, remarketing and Latin America. During this time, he was instrumental in growing remarketing to a $100 million global business and substantially impacting sales and marketing of Ingersoll Rand products in Latin America. Silber joined Ingersoll Rand in 1978 as a sales trainee and spent his early career in the Tool and Hoist business. He progressed through sales and marketing positions to become business unit manager for Material Handling and vice president for Latin America and Canada in 1994. In 1997 Silber moved to the Ingersoll Rand Construction and Mining Group, where he was vice president rental sales and strategic business development, and promoted to vice president sales for North America in 1998. In 2000, Silber was named president of Ingersoll Rand Equipment & Services in North America with responsibility for all company-owned channels of distribution and service. He held that position until moving into his current leadership role in 2002. Ingersoll Rand Construction Technologies produces industry-leading construction and road building equipment, including pavers and compactors, portable air compressors, light towers and generators, earthmoving equipment, material handlers, concrete equipment and attachments.
