    Product of the Week – Husqvarna DM 340 115-volt drill motor

    Husqvarna recently added a new model to its DM 340 drill motor. The new 115-volt version can supply enough power and torque to drill through heavily reinforced material for increased production rates. A water-cooled, three-speed gearbox is designed to make it easy to set the optimum drilling speed for drill bits with diameters from 2 to 16 inches.

    Husqvarna recently added a new model to its DM 340 drill motor. The new 115-volt version can supply enough power and torque to drill through heavily reinforced material for increased production rates. A water-cooled, three-speed gearbox is designed to make it easy to set the optimum drilling speed for drill bits with diameters from 2 to 16 inches.

    The motor has an ergonomically designed handle, and the quick-disconnect feature on the motor and DS 450 drill stand simplify transportation and set-up. The controls are also designed and positioned to enhance ergonomics and facilitate operation.

    The drill features the Elgard function to significantly increase the motor’s operating life by protecting it from overload. Softstart slowly increases the motor rpms, which reduces wear on the motor and brushes. A Smartstart feature reduces the speed of the rpms to decrease vibrations when starting to drill.

    The DM 340 115V is suited for heavy-duty core-drilling applications where high production rates are needed, especially with large-diameter core bits. It can be used for a variety of applications including water/waste evacuation pipes, channels for ventilation and plumbing, gas supply pipes, barriers, road signs and holes in corners for wall saw openings. http://www.husqvarnacp.com
