The International Powered Access Federation last week announced it is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2008 with a photo contest to promote the safe and effective use of aerial platforms.

IPAF is seeking dramatic pictures that show mobile elevating work platforms or mast-climbing work platforms being used correctly — with a full body harness and short lanyard in boom-type platforms, for example.

There are two categories for entries: one for general users of powered access and one for the media. Prizes will be awarded in each category. First prize is the Apple iPhone, second prize is the Slingbox TV-streaming device that allows users to watch TV from their computer remotely, third prize is a digital picture frame, and 25 consolation prizes of IPAF High-viz jackets will also be awarded.

“For 25 years, IPAF has worked with its members to bring the safe and effective use of powered access to the forefront, said Tim Whiteman, IPAF managing director. “Pictures are a marvelous way of showing what these specialized machines can do, and the photo contest is intended to be a celebration of the safe and correct use of aerial platforms.”

The photo contest runs through Sept. 30. For additional contest details visit www.ipaf.org.

The International Powered Access Federation is a not-for-profit members’ organization that promotes the safe and effective use of powered access equipment worldwide. Members include rental companies, manufacturers, distributors and equipment owners.
