Product of the Week – Komatsu HM300-5 Articulated Dump Truck

Komatsu America introduces the HM300-5 articulated dump truck. The truck features an increased capacity and payload, as well as a low 9’2” loading height that matches with 30-ton to 60-ton hydraulic excavators or 5 yd³ to 7.5 yd³ wheel loaders. It has a 324 HP net and a 30.9 ton payload with a gross vehicle weight of 117,892 pounds.  The new HM300-5 maintains the productivity and performance of the previous model, but with improved fuel efficiency.  It also features the Komatsu Traction Control System that automatically provides traction when operating in soft ground conditions. It includes the Komatsu Advanced Transmission with Optimum Modulation Control System, which offers a six-speed, fully-automatic transmission that uses an electronic system to eliminate shift shock and torque cutoff to improve operator and engine efficiency.
