Position announcement: Technical Editor, Equipment
Grounds Maintenance magazine and Rental Equipment Register are looking for an individual to prepare editorial related to grounds-care and rental-industry equipment, working from home.
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in equipment maintenance, design, manufacturing or sales, or teaching/consulting in related field; In-depth knowledge of the grounds-care and rental-equipment industries; advanced degree (preferably Bachelors Degree) in the area of mechanical engineering, agricultural engineering, automotive management or related field; excellent command of the English language; experience with word processing and e-mail; Writing or journalism experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities include: Prepare features relating to grounds-care equipment for Grounds Maintenance and Rental Equipment Register. Upon editor's approval, will originate and write or assign to outside authors features on grounds-care and rental equipment and other related topics. Responsible for the technical accuracy of all copy, feature and departmental, concerning grounds-care and rental equipment. Assist editorial staff in general editing and proofing of copy. Also assist staff with special projects. Maintain contact with sales staff, marketing and advertising personnel and outside companies. Travel on editorial assignments to shows, to advertisers with sales staff and to media and other events as required.
