Finning International’s Chilean operation has secured a contract with the Codelco Norte Division to deliver two CAT 797B off-road trucks, the first of this model of the 797 CAT truck line. These trucks are destined for Codelco’s Chuquicamata operation and are supported by a complete maintenance package.

Finning Chile has also reached an agreement with the Codelco Radomiro Tomic Division for the renewal of its maintenance and repair contract for two more years. The contract encompasses 29 pieces of equipment including 13 CAT 793B trucks. This is in addition to other existing contracts with Codelco Radomiro Tomic, which include 46 machines.

The combined value of the new agreements is in excess of C$39 million — more than USD$25.4 million. Doug Whitehead, president/CEO of Finning International noted, “These contracts demonstrate the Chilean copper mine industry’s ongoing need for large Caterpillar trucks and Finning’s position as the leader in equipment distribution and service support in Chile. Chile’s vast copper mines — the lowest cost copper mines in the world — continue to represent a tremendous growth opportunity for Finning.”

Vancouver, B.C.-based Finning is No. 17 on the RER 100, based on its North American rental revenue.
