Volvo Construction Equipment has completed an upgrade of the Volvo EC55 compact excavator. The upgrade features an ISO/SAE control pattern selector/system that allows switching easily and safely from backhoe to excavator pattern; hydraulic control lock to neutralize machine operation when the operator’s armrest is raised; the Volvo hand-operated boom offset system; and the incorporation of the roll over protection structure for operator safety. It has an operating weight of 10,830 pounds with rubber tracks, a digging depth of 12 feet, 6 inches and truck loading height of 13 feet, 5 inches.
