Richard “Dick” Hill, the California Rental Association’s first full-time executive director, died September 6, after a lengthy illness.

After working for the Los Angeles Police Department for 20 years, Hill was hired as executive director in 1957 by the California Trailer & Rental Yard Association. He directed the association for 27 years until he retired in 1984.

Hill is survived by his wife Sara; three daughters, Roberta, Linda and Nancy; and two sons, Richard and Robert.
