A new pilot program recently launched at the East Peoria, Ill., Cat Rental Store will make heavy equipment available for rent to qualified customers 24 hours a day.
“If customers need a piece of equipment late at night or early in the morning, they call and make a reservation for the equipment,” Steve Janda, rental operations manager for Caterpillar Inc., told the Peoria Journal Star.
The equipment is housed in a special after-hours yard with an electric gate, which can be opened with the use of an access badge or by punching in a PIN number on a keypad.
The program is designed to provide additional convenience for the store’s regular customers.
