FORT MYERS, Fla. — Jim Ziegler, CEO of RenTrain, Boulder, Colo., and former owner of Boulder-based Rental City, has been released from his non-compete agreement with NationsRent and has recently opened a new rental company in Fort Myers, Fla.

The new company, also called Rental City, is co-owned by Ziegler, his son Michael Ziegler, and partner Terry O'Connor. Michael and his wife Jenny are operating the store with one additional employee.

The store is on a 2 ½-acre lot and has a 9,300-square-foot building, Jenny Ziegler told RER.

“It's a general rental inventory, just like the old Rental City in Colorado, primarily for contractors and subcontractors,” Jim Ziegler said. “We're not going to compete with the big boys in high-reach or big heavy equipment.”
