The new JCB 8027Z and 8032Z mini excavators now give users more flexibility in mini excavators by providing zero tail swing capability when the excavator is positioned 90 degrees to the tracks. The 8027Z mini excavator weighs 2.7 metric tons, and the 8032Z weighs 3.2 metric tons.

Customers using the mini excavators can work in more confined spaces because the machine's counterweight does not hang over the tracks. This reduces the risk of damaging the rear of the machine while excavating, thereby reducing repair and replacement costs.

“The rear of the machine swings within the track width, thereby allowing the operator to increase productivity without fear of coming in contact with close job site obstacles,” says George Chaney, product marketing manager, compact products. “This is really an added bonus in rental operations as the mini excavators are not easily damaged by rental users in confining work environments, allowing less experienced operators to be more productive and not damage the piece of rental equipment or surroundings.”

The new machines are a boon on building sites where space is at a premium as well as road construction projects where zero tail swing reduces lane closures to a minimum for increased safety while working. The new mini excavators also appeal to operators who need extra power with the 28-hp engine while maintaining the ability to work in confined spaces.

Innovation has been designed into both new machines with the engine and hydraulics located under separate hood covers at the rear and on the side of the machine for easy serviceability.
