Volvo Rents Opens New Franchises

ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Volvo Rents has announced the opening of a new Volvo Rents equipment rental franchise in Nashville, Tenn., as well as a new franchise in Egg Harbor Township, N.J., near Atlantic City.

Tennessee Rental LLC, owned by Curtiss Shewmaker, has opened the third Volvo Rents franchise in the state. The other Volvo rental centers are in Chattanooga and Memphis. PJ Rental LLC, Egg Harbor Township, has opened its first Volvo Rents franchise to serve a rapidly growing southern New Jersey market.

Volvo Rents also added two more equipment rental franchises in Canada. Deerfoot Rentals, in business since 1998, has opened its Volvo Rents franchise in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Rocky Rentals, owned by Douglas Baumann and Clayton Ness, has opened its second Volvo Rents franchise in Edson, Alberta.

Volvo Rents began its equipment rental franchise initiative in 2001 and now has equipment rental centers open in 24 U.S. states and Canada. The company is expanding its operations in Europe with rental centers open in Portugal and Spain and has recently signed franchise agreements with a company in Italy.

In other Volvo news, LB Smith, the authorized Volvo Construction Equipment dealer serving eastern Pennsylvania, northern Delaware and New Jersey, last month changed its name to Penn-Jersey Machinery.

The Asheville, N.C.-based company is No. 16 on the RER 100.
