Miller Electric's patented Vault technology protects the electronics — and controlling output — of a machine in heavy industrial applications by providing a clean circuit board environment. Created out of two aluminum halves sealed with silicone, as well as a water-tight harness for connections, this technology hermetically seals the circuit board and is impenetrable to dirt, dust and moisture. Without the sealed environment, circuit boards are exposed to harsh elements that can disrupt the electronics, and therefore the operation of a welder/generator.

“Any machine with printed circuit boards is susceptible to damages from water and other contaminants,” says Joe Gitter, product manager for Miller Electric. “Water damage may even occur when the unit is being washed to make it ready for the next rental. Vault technology protects the circuit board from those dangers.”

Based on warranty claims versus number of products sold with the new Vault technology, Miller's Big Blue CC/CV welder generator shows a 98.8-percent reliability rating (January 2006 to the present), while the Pro 300 has a 98.1-percent rating (June 2006 to the present). “Many people are afraid of electronics because of the reliability issues involved,” says Gitter. “The Vault removes almost all of those issues while giving operators true CV performance and a more stable output.”
