The Wilmington and Chesapeake operations will operate as Sunbelt Access Specialist locations. About 150 United Scaffolding employees will become part of Sunbelt, including erection and dismantling crewmembers, sales reps and management personnel.

The acquisition gives Sunbelt greater strength in the industrial and commercial construction markets, Sunbelt vice president of marketing Chuck Miller said.

“United Scaffolding has been highly successful serving the access needs of major industries including shipyards, pulp and paper mills, and chemical plants as well as commercial contractors,” he said.

Bruce Williams is scaffolds operations manager for Sunbelt's Southern Virginia division, including the Chesapeake and Richmond locations and a future branch in Washington, D.C. Keith Lane will serve in the same position for the Coastal Atlantic, Central and north Georgia divisions, including access branches in Wilmington and Charlotte, N.C., Charleston, S.C., Atlanta and Augusta, Ga., and Birmingham, Ala.
