Gehl Names President, COO

West Bend, Wis.-based Gehl Co. elected Malcolm “Mac” Moore as president and COO of the company. Moore joined the company in August 1999 as executive vice president and COO. In his new position, Moore will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company, including three manufacturing sites: West Bend, Wis.; Madison, S.D.; and Yankton, S.D.

Cummins Names Vice President, Treasurer

Richard Harris joined Cummins Inc. as vice president — treasurer, the company recently announced. Harris brings international experience in banking and treasury, strategic equity investing, forecasting and other treasury-related activities. He will succeed Donald Trapp, who was named vice president of business development.

Morbark Opens Product Support Facility

Morbark Inc. opened a new product support facility in Conroe, Texas, to better serve its customers at the regional level. The 10,000-square-foot building is located in the Airport Industrial Park, about 25 minutes north of Houston's Bush National Airport. Stocking parts for the entire Morbark industrial equipment line, the new facility will serve the rapidly growing customer base in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana. Rick Bardsley was hired to represent Morbark parts in the region.

Tecumseh to Close Plant

Tecumseh, Mich.-based Tecumseh Products Co. said it will close its Sheboygan Falls diecasting facility by April 30 and that about 250 employees will be affected. It said asset impairments will be about $4 million and restructuring charges related to the closing will be recognized in the second, and possibly the third quarter of this year. The company makes hermetic compressors for water coolers, dehumidifiers and other equipment.
