Some of the Internet tools you use daily may have recently received a facelift. And with these four in particular you won't even notice the scars. We at RER know you work hard in your business everyday to maintain a high level of service for your customers. We thought it was only fair to find out which companies' Web sites are working hard for you.

Wacker, Menomonee Falls, Wis., recently launched its new Web site, www.wackergroup.com. Visitors to the site can view information that is specific to their country or region of the world in English, Spanish, German or French. The site also includes a spotlight section for new products, technical information for Wacker machines, an FAQ section, a dealer locator, operator's manuals for Wacker machines, online spare parts catalog, and company news and promotions.

Southhampton, Pa.-based Schiller-Pfeiffer Inc., manufacturer of Little Wonder and Mantis branded lawn and garden power equipment, recently announced the successful relaunch of its littlewonder.com Web site.

“It's got a whole new look, new navigation, and more information than ever,” says Kay Kehler, Web project coordinator for Schiller Pfeiffer. “We want to make it quick and easy to get key information about the many products available from Little Wonder and Mantis.”

The site features several new sections, including the Mantis Electric Tiller/Cultivator and LOADUMPER sections. Easy-to-use features pages let visitors view key features for all of the Little Wonder and Mantis products. More photos, detailed model charts and individual warranty pages have also been added for each product. Users can also ask questions of the company directly on the site or search through FAQ pages to find the answers for which they're looking. The company plans to add additional enhancements later this year.

Ingersoll-Rand redesigned its site, www.irco.com, with a new easy-to-navigate format, expanded information resources and new interactive tools designed to improve the visitor's understanding of the company and its businesses.

New site additions include electronic publications of the Hamilton, Bermuda-based company's corporate governance policy, an investment calculator, and a search engine for generating specific information about the company's operations, products and brands.

“We created the site to achieve three objectives,” says Paul Dickard, director of public relations. “Our first objective for the site was to better communicate with our stakeholders, particularly investors and members of the media, by making it easier for them to access comprehensive information about the company electronically. Our second goal was to foster greater transparency, an important business objective, by enabling the site's visitors to access our corporate governance policy and other sources of information about our company's vision and process of disseminating information, making our internal and external communications far more efficient.”

Owatonna, Minn.-based Mustang Manufacturing Co. launched a new online source for equipment purchasers searching for the most appropriate product for their job site needs.

The site, www.mustangmfg.com, which was designed with busy decision-makers in mind, includes complete product information that is sorted by operating weight rather than by model number, making it easy for customers unfamiliar with Mustang products to locate product specifications quickly.

“Where do you go when you want to find information fast?” asks Randy Vargason, Mustang marketing manager. “The Internet. Web sites are now customers' first — and in some cases only — introduction to a company's product. That is why Mustang decided to rework its existing site — to ensure customers aren't logging off without finding everything they had hoped to attain via the Internet.”

The site also includes product specifications, a dealer locator and a listing of trade show appearances.
