Former Midland Machinery Co. executive vice president Barre Banks has acquired 100 percent of the shares of the manufacturer of road and paving equipment.

Banks, who will serve as president of the Tonawanda, N.Y.-based company, plans to expand Midland's dealer network and product offerings.

"Our family and our employees have worked extremely hard over the years to develop a quality product line that serves the industry well," said Banks.

The Small Business Administration, the New York Department of Economic Development and the Erie County New York Regional Development Authority helped provide funding for the acquisition.

MQ Power, Carson, Calif., has hired David Brown as general manager, operations. Brown was previously vice president of power generation for Cummins Cal Pacific.

Bruce Dressel has been named CEO of Sunbelt Rentals, Charlotte, N.C., and elected to the board of directors for U.K.-based parent Ashtead Group PLC. Dressel will continue to serve as president of Sunbelt, No. 11 on the RER 100 with 82 locations.

Hertz Equipment Rental Corp., No. 2 on the RER 100, has named Richard Knopke as division vice president, supply business development, Midwest region. Knopke, former owner of an RER 100 company, will develop supply business and integrate operations into HERC's overall business. HERC also has appointed Kurk Walton to succeed Knopke as region vice president, Midwest, responsible for operations in Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and North and South Dakota.

Utility rental specialist Aggreko has named Edward Ray as general manager of its recently opened branch in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. Ray was a branch manager for former RER 100 company Certified Rentals, acquired by HERC last year. Aggreko also named Tracey McKoy as senior account executive, responsible for expanding its business with telecommunications companies.

Diesel engine manufacturer Perkins Engines, Novi, Mich., has appointed Jeff Pink as general parts manager, responsible for all parts marketing, sales and dealer development activities for its 1,100-plus North American dealer network.

UpRight, Selma, Calif., has named Michael McGough as vice president of sales and marketing. McGough joins the lift manufacturer from PCI Energy Services, a subsidiary of Westinghouse Electric, where he was president for the past four years.

Global Asphalt Products, Chambersburg, Pa., has appointed Furnival Machinery Co., Hatfield, Pa., as the exclusive dealer for its Pro-Pav Series asphalt pavers in Delaware, Maryland, and central and eastern Pennsylvania.

Grove Worldwide, Shady Grove, Pa., has appointed Wolfgang Schattschnieder as vice president, Asia Pacific crane sales.

Minneapolis-based Graco has named Dale Johnson as president and chief operating officer.

Godwin Pumps has named Ronald Askin as western regional manager, supporting mining, industrial and municipal customers.

Stone Construction Equipment, Honeoye, N.Y., has named Frank Wenszel as vice president of engineering, and Hass Beyer (pictured) as dis-trict manager, responsible for rental centers in Maryland and eastern Pennsylvania.

Hydraulic breaker manufacturer INDECO, Stratford, Conn., has named Gary Groteluschen as regional sales manager for its Mid-Central territory, covering Colorado, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North and South Dakota, and western Texas.
