In response to concerns from some financial markets, New Holland announced that its plans to acquire Case Corp., Racine, Wis., remain on track.

Case shares recently fell due in part to an analyst's report that might have been misinterpreted, according to analysts.

The report stated that the market forecast a 33 percent chance that the $55-a-share deal would not go through, which the author said some readers may have mistakenly thought was his own analysis of the deal's chances.

New Holland agreed to buy Case for about $4.3 billion in a cash deal that will create the world's third-largest construction equipment manufacturer. The venture is expected to boost The Netherlands-based New Holland into the North American construction equipment market and give Case a foothold in Europe.
