After going through due diligence, Multiquip Inc. and American Pneumatic Tool recently ended their acquisition talks.

The construction division of APT, which is owned by Hi-Shear Corp., remains for sale, but "Multiquip is not buying us," said George Morgan, marketing manager for APT, Gardena, Calif.

Carson, Calif.-based Multiquip president Irv Levine confirmed the deal will not be completed.
