The improvements of the Model 1300 Tub Grinder make it stronger and more efficient than before.

“This machine is built heavy duty, is easy to operate and maintain and is completely portable,” says Jolene Priest, marketing specialist. “The break away torque limiter is unique, protecting the engine and clutch against shock and overload.”

The redesigned mill base results in an improved flow of material out of the machine. In addition, the tub flare has been lowered 6 inches, resulting in improved feed and an increase in tub capacity.

The discharge conveyor has been improved as well. Increasing the width from a 36-inch belt to a 40-inch belt makes the conveyor structurally stronger.

More replaceable wear sections in the tub floor were added, increasing the longevity of the machine. To reduce maintenance, sealed bearings were added to the tub support wheels, which don't require greasing.

While production varies depending on the type of material being processed, output as high as 400 cubic yards per hour has been documented with the 1300 Tub Grinder. A standard diesel engine from Caterpillar or Cummins, with up to 1,000-hp, supplies the power.
