Yanmar's new SV08 Super Mini Excavator has an operating weight of 2,337 pounds and a tight rear-turning radius with “ultra mini tail swing” design. The variable undercarriage adjusts from 33 inches to a narrow 27 inches to slip through most garden gates and doorways.

“The machine is so compact that it can enter into very tight and confined spaces, yet still be extremely productive,” says Curt Unger, general sales manager for Yanmar.

Vertical track adjustments allow the right and left track to raise and lower independently to correct for uneven ground or operation on slopes or steps. “The unique track adjustment allows the operator to level the unit on a 10-degree side hill slope,” Unger says. “This allows the operator to work sitting upright and the unit feels much more stable.”

Although the unit is compact, the SV08 provides a dig depth of 5 feet, 4 inches, and a maximum reach at ground of 8 feet, 11 inches. Control pattern change is standard and simple to do. A large hood opening provides easy access for maintenance. Power is provided by a Tier II-compliant 10.3-hp diesel. The SV08 has a PTO output of 2,697 psi with a 5.2-gpm output. A foldable ROPS and retractable seatbelt are standard.
