Komatsu America International and Qualcomm Wireless Business Solutions are working to enhance Komatsu's Komtrax system, used by the company's customers who sell, lease, service and operate its construction, utility and mining equipment.
The system will allow customers of the Vernon Hills, Ill.-based construction and mining equipment supplier access to data management services such as geographic position, engine hour and usage reporting and real-time service fleet data. Komatsu customers and distributors will also be able to view and manage their service fleet vehicles using Qualcomm's mobile communications systems such as OmniTRACS and OmniExpress. Qualcomm is based in San Diego.
