What do you call a heating system with a half-million Btu, 4,200 feet of hose and 11,200 square feet of ground-heating capability?

Quite simply, the Heat King.

The latest offering from Crown Construction Equip-ment of Canada, the Heat King is a low-pressure mobile glycol heating system that is environmentally friendly. Applications include ground thawing, frost prevention, emergency heat, oil well head servicing and construction heat.

"This heavy-duty trailer is rugged, and it is built for the construction industry," Crown engineer Jeff Hildebrand says.

The trailer comes with two 7,000-pound axles; oversize, commercial-grade tires; electric brakes with remote cutoff; durable unibody construction; a locking tailgate; a 240-gallon fuel tank; an integral leveling system; and an oil pre-heater for better cold starts.

Hildebrand says the unit's most impressive feature is its computer controls. Operators can press a single button to activate a number of functions such as startup and pump activation.

In addition, the heating system's interchangeable hose circuits allow for heating flexibility because they can be connected to the remote substation with quick couplers. The substation has integral valves and temperature gauges allowing for complete control of each heating circuit, while the Heat King's double-loop system virtually eliminates heater shock, according to the company.
