John Grimmer, the founder of Grimmer-Schmidt Compressors, has reacquired the portable air compressor manufacturing company he sold in May 1993.

Grimmer, who will serve as CEO, bought the unit from Superior Compressors. Ed Ketcham has been named president, and Grimmer's sons - John Jr., Curt, Andy, Tom and Peter - will work for the company in various capacities.

Grimmer's Franklin, Ind.-based company Grimmer Industries also owns ANGI International, a maker of natural gas compressors; Hurricane Compressors; Pro Industries, a maker of weight training equipment; and now GrimmerSchmidt, which makes diesel and gasoline-powered portable and industrial air compressors.
