CORONA, Calif. - Pacific Coast Machinery, which opened in December under the direction of president Bud Sims, has been named the Southern California dealer for JCB, the first stand-alone JCB dealer in the country.

Pacific Coast, based here, will offer JCB backhoe, skid-steer and wheel loaders; telescopic handlers; rough-terrain forklifts; and excavators. The facility includes a repair center and parts warehouse. Pacific Coast also has locations in Oceanside and Signal Hill.

"With the expansion of its product line into compact equipment, we feel JCB has a broad enough line to merit a JCB-only dealer," Sims said. "Before [JCB] was a nice complement to other manufacturers. We're not taking on any other product lines, which will allow us to focus our technicians and product support on JCB."

Sims is a former vice president of Hawthorne Rent-It Service, No. 34 on the RER 100, and most recently was president of SMA Equipment, a division of Ameco, No. 9 on the RER 100.
