The boards of directors of the Construction Industry Manufacturers Association and the Equipment Manufacturers Institute voted to approve a memorandum

The boards of directors of the Construction Industry Manufacturers Association and the Equipment Manufacturers Institute voted to approve a memorandum of understanding that would consolidate the two groups into one association.

EMI and CIMA are working on an implementation plan outlining in detail the organizational and administrative structure of the consolidated organization. The two organizations are currently performing due diligence and expect to present the consolidation proposal to the full memberships this summer.

According to the memorandum, the new association would provide a stronger industry presence to help ensure that the interests of construction and agricultural equipment manufacturers are heard and taken into account by governmental legislators and regulators. It would also provide members with expanded opportunities in areas such as education, market support, statistics, market data, governmental affairs, technical support, trade shows and international market services.
