May 31, 2013

U.K. rental company One Call Hire announced a £32.6 million (about U.S. $49.5 million) investment in fleet this calendar year. One Call operates from eight “super depots” across the U.K. and teams with Nixon Hire to serve contracts north of Leeds to provide national coverage.

One Call is opening a new branch in Oxford, U.K.

An investment of £7.5 million has been spent on a new fleet of 361 dumpers. The company has also increased its fleet of self-propelled rollers and large telehandlers.

An investment of £20 million goes to 430 excavators from Caterpillar, Hitachi, New Holland, Komatsu and Kubota.

“Our customers are seeing an increase in work and subsequently we see an increase in demand for plant,” said joint managing director Martin Fitzpatrick. “We have seen an increase in demand for excavators and telehandlers, reflecting a wider range of hire opportunities like the heavy lift telehandlers in response to changes in demand.”
