U.K.’s Hewden Receives Roadworthiness Award

Dec. 20, 2013

U.K. equipment rental company Hewden has received the Freight Transport Association’s Roadworthiness Award in recognition of its high standards of maintaining both vehicles and trailers. The Roadworthiness Awards highlight FTA members’ efforts to keep fleets safe, legal and efficient, and are designed to encourage and reward high standards of compliance with vehicle condition legislation in the U.K.

Hewden’s core fleet includes excavators, backhoes, rollers, telehandlers, dumpers and aerial work platforms.

“[Hewden’s] Bangor depot in particular was selected to receive the award in recognition of a very strong performance in controlling driver-related defects,” said Lee Scarlett of FTA. “This combined with having the lowest overall number of defects for both vehicles and trailers in their national fleet demonstrated the overall excellent condition of vehicles operated by this depot.”
