Finland-based international rental company Ramirent has signed an agreement to acquire the telehandler business of Kurko-Koponen Companies, a telehandler equipment rental specialist in Finland.

Finland-based international rental company Ramirent has signed an agreement to acquire the telehandler business of Kurko-Koponen Companies, a telehandler equipment rental specialist in Finland. Ramirent also inked a cooperation agreement with KKC for telehandler operator services. With this acquisition and agreement, Ramirent will have the widest telehandler service offering on the Finnish market, the company said.

The annual rental volume of the acquired telehandler business is about €6 million (about U.S. $8.3 million). Seven employees working with the telehandler business will move to Ramirent.

The market for telehandlers is growing in Finland, Ramirent said. KKC has been providing telehandler services since 2010 to customers operating in building construction, infrastructure construction and various other industrial sectors.

“The acquisition complements our comprehensive equipment and service offering, enabling us to offer a wide selection of telehandlers combined with professional operator services,” said Anna Hyvönen, executive vice president of Ramirent Finland & Baltic.

“At Kurko-Koponen, we have the best telehandler operators in the market,” said Juha Koponen, KKC chairman. “Cooperating with Ramirent gives us the chance to develop further our operator services in Finland.”

Ramirent, based in Vantaa, near Helsinki, Finland has more than 300 branches in 10 countries in the Nordic countries and Central and Eastern Europe.
