Hitachi Construction to Build New Australia Plant

Hitachi plans to develop an AU$100 million facility in Armadale, Australia, Australia’s businessnews.com is reporting. Hitachi said it will relocate to a business park in the area about 30 kilometers south of Perth. Company officials said the new facility would employ about 350 people and enable the company to expand its support capabilities in quarry, construction, forestry, mining and recycling industries.

The facility will include an assembly facility for excavators and mining trucks. The company will relocate from its Welshpool facility, which is has outgrown.

Hitachi expects to begin construction on the facility in April 2014 and complete it by June 2015.
