Following a huge £7 million investment into its power division, Speedy Services last week announced it is doubling the size of its electrical scissorlift fleet in a £4 million deal with Skyjack.

Speedy has ordered 19-foot and 26-foot Skyjack electrical scissorlifts — the SJIII 3219 and SJIII 3226 — for the company’s network of depot centers across the U.K., reinforcing its commitment to deliver access to rental equipment during busy summer months for the industry.

“I’m delighted to announce another landmark investment for Speedy,” said Andy Connor, Speedy’s supply chain director. “We continually strive to put the needs of customers first through our product improvement, innovation and investment program.

“Our level of investment into rental equipment this year is a clear indicator that we are determined to fill supply gaps in the market and provide a market-leading service to our customers.”

Skyjack is a leading provider of self-propelled aerial work platforms. Its product line includes DC electric scissorlifts, engine-powered rough-terrain scissorlifts, telescopic and articulated boomlifts and telehandlers. Skyjack is a division of the Linamar Corp.

Speedy Hire, the United Kingdom’s largest equipment rental company, is based in Newton-le-Willow, Merseyside, U.K.
