JCB India Considering Karnataka Factory, Reports Say

Construction equipment manufacturer JCB India, a wholly-owned subsidiary of U.K.-based JCB, has shown interest in setting up a new manufacturing facility in Karnataka, India, according to online news reports from India. A team of senior JCB India officials recently held talks with the Karnataka government. According to the reports, JCB could be looking to spend close to Rs 400 crore (about U.S. $90 million) on the facility, although JCB officials declined comment.

JCB India currently has facilities in Pune and Ballabgarh, which has the capacity to product 100 excavators per day.

JCB India has invested about Rs. 600 crore (about U.S. $130 million) for the expansion of capacities in both facilities.
