Aggreko Opens Cape Town Service Center

May 16, 2012
Aggreko, world leader in providing temporary power and temperature control services, has opened a new service center in Cape Town, South Africa.

Aggreko, world leader in providing temporary power and temperature control services, has opened a new service center in Cape Town, South Africa. The new facility was formally inaugurated by Aggreko CEO Rupert Soames in a ceremony last month at the new depot, which is the fourth Aggreko service center in the country, alongside existing operations in Johannesburg, Durban and Port Elizabeth.

The new branch is strategically located to support shipping and oil and gas industries located in the vicinity as well as businesses operating in and around Cape Town’s central business district. It will also enable Aggreko to better serve the operations of its mining customers in the Northern Cape. The facility also gives Aggreko a presence in the major industrial and commercial centers of the country.

“South Africa is a key strategic market for Aggreko and forms the base of our South and East African business. The investments we have made in the country to date have allowed us to build a solid foundation for continual growth in the region,” said Martin Foster, head of local business, South and East Africa. “We take very seriously the development of our local Aggreko people. The long-term success of our business is directly linked to existence of a highly capable and well-trained South African workforce.”

“Aggreko is highly committed to expanding our presence across Africa,” said Rupert Soames, Aggreko CEO. “The success of our operations in South Africa will be a model for our continued growth across the entire continent.”

Aggreko, based in Scotland with North American headquarters in Houston, is No. 6 on the new RER 100.
