Aggreko, world-leading supplier of temporary power and temperature control services, has commissioned a 6.6 MW gas-fueled power package for Kaveri Gas Power Limited, the Mumbai Business Standard reported. KGPL, an independent power producer, contracted Aggreko when the breakdown of an alternator at a state-owned gas turbine plant reduced the power supply to the Tamil Nadu state, increasing the risk of load shedding and power shortages.

The turn-key power package was designed, mobilized and commissioned in just 25 days, with Aggreko technicians remaining on-site after the commissioning to operate and maintain the equipment. The additional power supply, commissioned in October 2010, has ensured that businesses in the Tamil Nadu state have not been faced with power shortages.

Aggreko has branches in Wagholi in the Pune province, and Delhi, India.
