White Cap Construction Supply, a distributor of specialty hardware, tools and materials to medium- and large-sized construction contractors, last week acquired Greenwald Supply and Greenwald Industrial Products Co., regional mid-Atlantic distributors of construction, building and specialty materials.
The acquisition of Greenwald extends White Cap’s presence in the specialty hardware, tools and materials market by expanding its customer relationships, adding branch locations in Maryland and Virginia and enhancing its fabrication capabilities. Greenwald has a leading market presence in the Washington, D.C., area as well.
White Cap’s customers specialize in new construction, single and multi-family housing, commercial high-rise buildings, highways, bridges, runways and industrial facilities. Founded in 1976, White Cap was acquired by The Home Depot in June 2004, and became part of The Home Depot Supply, a division that fulfills the needs of professional customers, supplementing the retail store environment. Greenwald has estimated annual sales of $100 million and offers more than 35,000 products and specialty materials.
