Volvo Construction Equipment Rents has announced the opening of its third Volvo Rents equipment rental franchise in Alberta, Canada.

Rocky Rentals, owned by Douglas Baumann and Clayton Ness, has opened its second Volvo Rents franchise in Alberta. The company opened its first Volvo Rents franchise in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, in October 2004, and plans to open two more franchises within the next six months. The third Alberta Volvo Rents franchise is located in Clairmont.

The new Rocky Rentals rental center in Edson, an independently owned and operated franchise, will carry, in addition to Volvo construction equipment, a comprehensive line of essential equipment and tools for the construction, commercial, industrial and homeowner markets.

Volvo Rents, now with 64 rental franchises in the United States and Canada, has seven rental centers either open or under contract for near-future openings in the provinces of Alberta and Ontario, Canada. The company is also expanding in Europe with rental centers open in Portugal, Spain, and Italy and will soon open new centers in other European countries.

The Asheville, N.C.-based company is No. 16 on the RER 100.
