Greenwich, Conn.-based United Rentals, last week announced that it completed a major expansion at its general rentals branch in Anchorage, Alaska. The branch provides customers with equipment rentals, sales of new and used equipment, service and sales of contractor supplies.

The Anchorage branch was expanded through the addition of a 12,000-square-foot service center that will be used for repair and maintenance of customer-owned equipment as well as the branch's rental fleet. The new service center is outfitted with five drive-through garages and a large washing bay.

"Customers who depend on us for quality repairs, maintenance and parts will now be able to access these services around the clock, and on an expedited basis,” said Bob Krause, region vice president, northwest.

United Rentals has a second branch in Anchorage, with additional locations in Fairbanks, Palmer, Soldotna, Wasilla and Delta Junction. The company has also recently begun construction of a new 15,000-square-foot branch location in Fairbanks, with completion scheduled for June of this year.

United Rentals is No. 1 on the RER 100.
