Select Plant Hire, part of Laing O'Rourke, the largest privately owned construction firm in the United Kingdom, last week announced it selected Result Group to implement rentalresult software throughout its business in the U.K.

“Select Plant has experienced significant growth over the last five years,” said Paul Collins, managing director - specialist trading, for Select Plant. “As a result of this we now hold a very diverse fleet and have expanded/modernized our network of depots to support this. It has become clear that a major update to our business systems is needed to service our internal and our rapidly growing external customer base. We are very impressed with rentalresult's approach and software, which we believe will meet the needs of our business and most importantly our customers."

The largest plant business in the U.K., Select owns and manages large numbers of tower, mobile and crawler cranes, excavators, compressors, tippers and crushers. It also deploys several sophisticated formwork and falsework systems, and has recently piloted a radio frequency identification (RFID) process, allowing plant to be tagged and monitored from a central point. Select has invested heavily in the latest plant and information technology.

Result Group has been selling specialist software to companies renting out assets since 1994. The company’s java-based product, rentalresult, is designed to manage all aspects of rental including order processing & fulfillment, sales management, asset lifecycle and inventory, servicing, financials and CRM.
