Aggreko plc, one of the world’s leading provider of temporary power, temperature control and oil-free compressed air services, enjoyed a strong increase in the first six months of 2005, the company announced last week. Group revenue for the six-month period was about $287 million, up from about $259 million for the first half of last year, based on current currency conversion rates. Trading profits increased by 8 percent to about $31 million.

The company added that it confirmed the loss of about $300,000 worth of equipment as a result of Hurricane Katrina, including equipment on offshore oil platforms in the Gulf of Mexico. An additional $8 million worth of equipment is considered at risk. However, Aggreko expects storm-related revenue to be close to $13 million.
