Finning, the Caterpillar dealer in British Columbia, Alberta, Yukon and the Northwest Territories has headed to Europe to recruit heavy equipment technicians, apprentices, and sales and service managers. Company representatives are participating in Finning Canada’s Wanted Tour in Germany.

The “Wanted Team” will participate in the German leg of the Alberta government’s Euromission 2006: Recruiting Outside of Canada. Finning will be recruiting as part of Euromission in Essen, March 20-21; Leipzig, March 22-23; Munich, March 24-25 and then will host its own recruiting seminars in Dortmund, March 28-29; and Dusseldorf, March 30-31. The Wanted Team will meet with potential candidates in Frankfurt.

On January 18, Finning launched the first phase of its Wanted Tour by traveling to cities and downs throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan, interviewing more than 800 people. Finning has hired around 200 new employees this year.

“Finning is experiencing tremendous growth in response to our customers’ demand for equipment service and maintenance,” said Finning’s director of human resources Greg McNeill. “We estimate that we will need to attract 400 new skilled employees in each of the next four years to meet that demand. Participating in Euromission provides an efficient way by which to tap into a pool of skilled foreign workers and explore the potential that exists in that region.”

Based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Finning is one of the world’s largest Caterpillar dealers with one of its largest rental programs. Finning is No. 17 on the RER 100.
