In December 2002, three scissorlifts were stolen from ADI’s yard in Orrstown, Pa. This included two Snorkel SL19 models and a Skyjack 7027.

After more than two years, in May 2005, ADI received a call from Snorkel USA saying someone had ordered a part from one of the big rental companies for one of the SL19s for which they had serial numbers. ADI contacted the Pennsylvania state police to report the findings. Working with the Auburn police department they tracked it down and returned it to ADI this month. The man who had possession of the scissorlift said he had found it along an interstate in the New York area. The unit was actually being used by one of his employees when the Auburn police found it. Jim Souders, ADI sales manager, said it wasn’t clear whether the man had stolen it, but that he was due in court Aug. 31, potentially to be charged with receiving stolen equipment.
