According to Mike Crouch, Volvo Rents vice president of global operations, the vendor of the year was awarded based on input from Volvo Rents franchises. The franchises were asked to rate vendors in several categories: quality of national account program; quality/reliability of products; availability and lead times; parts pricing and availability; warranty/after-sales service; local sales and service support; and marketing support. To determine the recipient of the award, category totals from 30 participating franchises were tallied, and Genie received the highest overall ranking.

“The entire Genie organization is extremely proud to receive the vendor of the year recognition from Volvo Rents,” said Steve Headden, Genie regional sales manager. “We have a lot of exciting, new products coming to market in 2007, and we rely on our strong relationships with rental companies, such as Volvo Rents, to get Genie products to customers.”

Volvo Rents are locally owned and operated rental franchises that carry extensive general construction equipment and tool inventories for commercial, industrial and homeowner applications.

Genie Industries, a subsidiary of Terex Corp., manufactures material lifts, aerial work platforms, trailer-mounted booms and light towers, scissorlifts, self-propelled telescopic and articulating booms and telehandlers.
