Volvo Construction Equipment and Arnold Machinery, the Volvo Construction Equipment dealer in four western states, recently delivered a Volvo DD29 asphalt compactor to the Vietnam Aviation Veterans of Arizona Memorial Museum in Maricopa, Ariz., as a contribution to the museum’s support and recognition of United States military veterans.

The Vietnam Aviation Veterans of Arizona was created in 2000 with the primary mission to establish a museum to pay tribute to and memorialize the veterans of the Vietnam War and all veterans of the United States military.

The Volvo DD29 roller compaction machine will be used by the fly-in museum to maintain and service the 2600’ runway, taxiways, and infrastructure at the institution, creating considerable savings in operational costs.

Colonel Charles Millar, president of the Memorial Museum, commended the two companies for their donation and support of the organization. “Companies like Arnold and Volvo are key to the success of the many veterans’ organizations throughout the United States,” Millar said. “Their participation in our program brings credit to the veterans that have sacrificed so much for this great country. I cannot express enough our gratitude to them.”

In a joint statement upon the delivery of the equipment to the museum, Tom O’Byrne, president, Construction Equipment Division, Arnold Machinery, Phoenix, and Göran Lindgren, president and CEO, Volvo Construction Equipment North America, Asheville, N.C., said: “We take a great deal of pride in making this donation to the museum. It is the very least that we can do to recognize and support the organization’s tremendous dedication to duty, to the military veterans of the United States.”

Arnold Machinery represents Volvo Construction Equipment with nine sales and service centers in Arizona, Nevada, Utah, and Idaho. The company’s headquarters are in Salt Lake City.
