Lee Kramer, president of Xtreme Manufacturing and a veteran of the equipment manufacturing industry, died Jan. 18 of pneumonia at the age of 67.

Lee Kramer, president of Xtreme Manufacturing and a veteran of the equipment manufacturing industry, died Jan. 18 of pneumonia at the age of 67.

Kramer was part of the founding of Xtreme Manufacturing in 2003 as vice president of engineering. Kramer played an integral role in the development of the first Xtreme telehandler, and went on to lead the growth of the Xtreme Manufacturing business as president.

“Lee was not only our leader, but he was our mentor and friend,” said Xtreme in a statement. “He will be greatly missed by all at Xtreme Manufacturing, and by all who knew him. Lee was a true gentleman; an exceptionally kind and compassionate man who made a positive contribution to the lives of everyone who worked with him.”

Kramer studied mechanical engineering at the University of Illinois and started his career at Komatsu Dresser Co., before moving on to Blount Inc. and Timberlake Corp. He entered the aerial work platform industry with UpRight in 1999 as engineering manager based in Selma, Calif.

After a two-year tenure with UpRight, Kramer moved to Fresno Engineering Design Group before joining Xtreme.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Kramer, of 34 years of marriage, as well as their son, Justin, and daughter, Jordan.

A memorial service will be held for Kramer Sunday Jan. 25 at 2 p.m. at the Xtreme Manufacturing facility, 1415 W. Bonanza Road, Las Vegas, NV 89106. The service is open to the public.

In memory of Lee Kramer, a fund has been set up to benefit college engineering students. Checks should be made payable to "Memorial Fund for Lee Kramer." Deposits can be sent to Plaza Bank, 8275 W.
