United Rentals Named a “Top 100 Military-Friendly Employer”

United Rentals last week announced that the company has been selected by GI Jobs magazine as one of the nation’s Top 100 Military-Friendly Employers for 2010. More than 5,000 U.S. companies with revenues of at least $500 million were considered for the honor, which was awarded based on the strength of a company’s military recruiting efforts, percentage of new hires with prior military service, and workforce policies regarding National Guard / Reserve service.

GI Jobs magazine is a publication for military personnel transitioning to civilian employment, providing education, assistance and connections to job opportunities. GI Jobs is distributed to U.S. military and veterans in North America and overseas.

Greenwich, Conn.-based United Rentals is No. 1 on the RER 100.
