RSC Equipment Rental last week named Gordon McDonald vice president of managed services. In his new role, McDonald will be responsible for supporting the recent success of the proprietary Total Control equipment management software.
“Gordon has 30 years leadership experience in the rental industry, and intimate knowledge of customers and their needs,” said Erik Olsson, president and CEO of RSC. “He has made great contributions to the business, including leading development of the unique Total Control software that helps customers manage their equipment rentals. With demand for Total Control growing rapidly among large manufacturing customers, we are adding resources to this area.”
McDonald joined RSC Equipment Rental in 1997 when it acquired Industrial Air Tool, where he started in the industry in 1974. He has served as regional manager for industrial on-site operations, and, more recently, director of managed services.
Total Control is a web-based equipment management system that allows industrial and construction customers to manage rented and owned equipment to minimize cost and drive efficiency. The product is currently used by more than 100 Fortune 500 customers in the manufacturing, chemicals and petroleum industries.
Based in Scottsdale, Ariz., RSC is No. 2 on the RER 100.
