Ramirent Posts Strong Third Quarter, Announces Swedish, Finnish Acquisitions

Multi-nation rental company Ramirent increased its net sales 27 percent during the third quarter from €276 million to €351.6 million, about U.S. $448.6 million. Ramirent Finland accounted for €73.2 million, Ramirent Sweden for €92.8 million, Ramirent Norway €87.4 million, Ramirent Denmark for €35.9 million and Ramirent Europe for €64.6 million.

Ramirent Finland accounted for €73.2 million, Ramirent Sweden for €92.8 million, Ramirent Norway €87.4 million, Ramirent Denmark for €35.9 million and Ramirent Europe for €64.6 million.

The group is headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, and has 284 locations in 12 countries.

The company said the rental market is growing in all Nordic countries as well as Russia, the Baltic states, Poland, Hungary, Ukraine and the Czech Republic. It said it expects the machinery rental market to grow faster than the construction market for the rest of this year.

Last week, Ramirent’s Swedish subsidiary agreed to acquire Mavex, a machinery rental company specializing in lifts, hoists, modules and electricity. The company has an outlet in Skelleftea. The acquisition strengthens Ramirent in the booming northern Sweden market.

Last month it acquired Lainavaline HS, which speciaIizes in the rental of personnel lifts. It has four branches and primarily operates in southern and western Finland. The acquisition strengthens Ramirent’s position in Finland’s rental market.

Ramirent is the leading rental company in the Nordic countries, Central and Eastern Europe. It is listed on the Helsinki stock exchange.
