Worldwide industrial services company Harsco Corp. last week announced its Patent access services division will play an important role in the revitalization of one of the United States’ most famous intersections, Hollywood & Vine in Los Angeles. Patent will provide more than $3 million of rental concrete formwork equipment and services to San Mateo, Calif.-based general contractors Webcor Builders as it constructs nearly 2 million square feet of new retail and commercial properties at the southeast corner of the intersection.

The project will cover a 4.6-acre site — nearly a full city block — and will include a luxury hotel, condominium units and apartments and a broad array of restaurants and commercial spaces. The complex is scheduled to open in mid-2009.

Robert Safier, Patent’s executive vice president and general manager, said the project will be a division-wide effort that will include engineering design done in electronic collaboration by engineers from Patent’s San Francisco, Seattle and Miami branch offices.

Harsco’s Patent Division, No. 18 on the RER 100, is a major provider of scaffolding, forming and shoring equipment and services for major construction, infrastructure and industrial maintenance projects throughout North and Latin America. Harsco Corp. is based in Harrisburg, Pa.
